Sir Peter Heap KCMG A former British Ambassador who has lived and worked in the Far East, Sir Peter will talk about the many issues the countries we explore are facing today, together with aspects of their modern history. Fiona Kerlogue Author and a member of the Department of South East Asian studies at the University of Hull. She regularly teaches on art and culture, and publishes on topics relating to textiles and architecture in the region. Several years of fieldwork, including the making of a film distributed by the Royal Anthropological Institute, will be reflected in her talks. Canon Robin Protheroe CMG One-time Director of Education for the Diocese of Bristol and senior lecturer in Religions studies, he will introduce the rich variety of cultures and beliefs which will be encountered on this cruise, and comment on some current issues facing the countries of the region. Kim Jane Saunders Cultures, crafts, exquisite textiles and the importance of trade in South East Asia will be among the topics explored in her talks. Having lived for many years in the region she has developed a fascination for the local people and their customs.
